Salvaging
Unwanted gear breaks down into seven materials. You can do it a bucket at a time at Levski's Roar, or arm a Charm of Salvaging and have it happen the moment an item drops.
The seven buckets
Every salvageable item belongs to exactly one bucket. That is not the only design available - an ethereal rare could plausibly yield both Rare Fibres and an Ethereal Imbueity - but it is the one the buttons demand: with overlap, "Salvage all rares" and "Salvage all ethereal" would each claim the same item, and which you pressed first would silently change what you got.
The priority order is most specific first: ethereal beats set beats tier beats plain quality. An ethereal item is an ethereal item whatever else it also is.
| Bucket | Material | Yield | Material value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Whites (plain gear) | White Scales | 1 | 40 |
| Magic | Magic Powder | 1 | 120 |
| Rare | Rare Fibres | 2 | 320 |
| Uniques | Unique Encrustments | 3 | 700 |
| Primal | Primal Vines | 4 | 1,500 |
| Set | Set Engravings | 3 | 900 |
| Ethereal | Ethereal Imbueities | 2 | 1,100 |
Jewellery counts as gear. Rings and amulets salvage like anything else you wear - an ethereal ring gives Ethereal Imbueities, a set amulet gives Set Engravings.
Salvaging at Levski's Roar
The panel carries seven gold buttons, one per bucket. A button lights up when your backpack holds something it would consume, and pressing it breaks down every matching item at once. The materials go back into the space the gear just vacated, so a pack full enough to need salvaging always has room for what salvaging produced - materials stack to 99, so a hundred White Scales occupy one cell.
If the pack somehow cannot hold everything, the shortfall is reported in the event log in red rather than swallowed. Losing count silently is the failure mode worth designing against.
Charms of Salvaging
Seven 1-slot charms, one per bucket. With one live in your backpack, drops of that bucket are converted to material at pickup - the item never occupies a cell, and never reaches your hands.
| Charm | Converts | Drops from | Vendor price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charm of Salvaging: Whites | plain gear | qlvl 1 | 4,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Magic | magic gear | qlvl 4 | 8,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Rare | rares | qlvl 8 | 16,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Uniques | uniques | qlvl 13 | 26,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Set | set items | qlvl 15 | 30,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Ethereal | ethereals | qlvl 17 | 34,000 |
| Charm of Salvaging: Primal | primals | qlvl 20 | 40,000 |
They yield exactly what the matching Levski button would have yielded. A charm buys convenience, not value.
Three rules keep them from being dangerous
- The active cap applies. A Charm of Salvaging is a charm, so it counts against the same three-charm active limit as the stat charms: only the first three charms in reading order are live, and a fourth is dead weight whose description says so. At most three buckets can be armed at once, and a salvage charm competes for those slots with a Charm of Vigor. Without that cap, a backpack of charms would eat every drop in the game.
- A full pack declines rather than destroys. The materials are placed before the item is consumed. If nothing fits, the conversion is refused and the item is picked up normally.
- It is never silent. You never see the item, so the log names it -
Salvaged on pickup: Godly Plate of the Whale -> 4 Primal Vines. That matters most for the buckets you might regret: a Primal charm eats a Primal you would have kept.
Where they come from
- Griswold and Adria both stock all seven. They restock like ordinary stock: buying one removes it, and the next restock brings it back.
- They also drop, gated by the depths in the table above, through the same charm roll as the stat charms.
givecharmsin the debug console gives every charm in the game, salvage charms included.
Materials in the stash
The stash Sort button gives the crafting families a page of their own: runes across the top four rows, gems building bottom-up in seven columns by type, and the seven salvage materials in a row of their own between them, ordered left to right from White Scales to Ethereal Imbueities.
