Spells
Every entry in SpellData, with the character-level band that gates
learning it and the item level its book needs before it can drop.
The six bands
A spell cannot be learned below its band, and its book cannot be read below it either. Book availability follows from the same band, so a book you cannot read is a book that should not have dropped.
| Band | Book needs ilvl | Earliest area | Spells |
|---|
The Rule of Rangs
Rank 1 of a spell wants its band's character level; every rank after that wants one more. A band-1 spell reaches rank 10 at character level 10, and rank 94 at level 99. There is no cap short of the whole point pool.
Mana
Mana is the cost at spell level 1. Each level past the first subtracts Adj from it, down to a floor of Min - so a spell's cost falls as it deepens but never reaches zero. Healing and Heal Other add twice the character level to the base cost before that reduction.

The Role column
The table lists every entry of the enum, including the ones that are not book spells. What each role means:
| Role | Meaning |
|---|---|
| book | Learned from a book, gated by its band. This is the spell list proper. |
| class skill | One of the seven Paladin skills - earned by character level, listed with the class trees. |
| belt ability | Town Portal, which lives on the belt rather than in the book. |
| retired | Item Repair, Trap Disarm, Staff Recharge, Search, Identify and Rage. They still occupy enum slots, but nobody is granted them and they cannot be readied. |
| unused | The enum's null entry. |
